ITEC Programme
The Indian Technical and Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme has been highly popular, with a large number of participants from various ministries of the Myanmar Government attending its diverse courses. ITEC offers nearly 10,000 fully-funded in-person training opportunities annually through approximately 400 courses conducted at over 100 eminent institutes across India, covering both short-term and long-term programmes. The number of slots allotted to Myanmar under ITEC has increased from 240 in 2021-2022 to 400 in 2022-2023.
The training areas cover a wide range of fields, including English language, Information Technology, Computer Applications, Agriculture, Remote Sensing, Industry, Quantum Computing, Robotics, Urban Development, Parliamentary Studies, Mass Communication, Management, SME/Rural Development, specialized technical courses, Environment and Renewable Energy, among others. Most of these schemes provide benefits such as round-trip airfare, living allowances, book allowances, and free study tours.
