ICCR Scholarship

The Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR) offers 39 scholarships annually to students from Myanmar for undergraduate (UG), postgraduate (PG), and PhD studies across a range of subjects. Myanmar students primarily avail themselves of PG and PhD courses in B.Tech, MBA, Agriculture, Buddhist Studies, and related fields.

Various scholarships schemes offered to Myanmar under ICCR:

(i) Atal Bihari Vajpayee General Scholarship Scheme: For Under Graduate & Post Graduate studies in Science, Humanities and also Research work.

(ii) Mekong Ganga Co-operation Scholarship Scheme (MGCSS): For Under Graduate & Post Graduate studies in Science, Humanities and also Research work.

(iii) Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Cultural Exchange Scholarship (without Airfare): For Under Graduate & Post Graduate studies in Science, Humanities and also Research work.

(iv) Quad STEM scholarship: To pursue a 4-year bachelor’s level engineering programme.

(iv) Ayush Scholarship to BIMSTEC member countries: The ICCR offers scholarships slots to meritorious nationals of BIMSTEC member countries every year to pursue Under Graduate/Post Graduate/Ph.D course in Indian Traditional Systems of Medicine, i.e. Ayurveda, Unani, Siddha and Homoepathy under this scheme.

(iii) Lata Mangeshkar Dance & Music Scholarship Scheme: For pursuing study of Indian Culture such as dance, music, theatre, performing art, sculpture, Indian language, Indian cuisine, etc.

  • Foreign students study over 100 subjects including Agriculture, Artificial Intelligence, Biotechnology, Business Studies, Classical Indian Dance, Music, Commerce, Economics, Engineering/IT, Indian languages, Liberal Arts, Management, Philosophy, Political Science, Yoga, etc. (Medical Science and integrated courses such as law are not included.)

  • Applicants must apply online through the A2A Portal: https://a2ascholarships.iccr.gov.in .

  • Age criteria: Undergraduate/Postgraduate courses: 18 to 40 years, PhD programmes: up to 50 years

  • For admission to undergraduate courses, completion of 10+2 (12 years) of schooling is compulsory.

  • For BE/B.Tech courses, Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics (PCM) are mandatory in grades 11 and 12. Mark sheets for both the 10th and 12th grade (or equivalent) must be uploaded along with transcripts in English.

  • Admissions to Medical/Paramedical (Nursing, Physiotherapy, Anesthesia, etc.), Fashion, Law, and integrated courses such as BALLB (5 years), BSc & MSc (5 years) are not admissible.

  • Applicants may apply to up to five universities/institutes, listed in order of preference. Admission will be given according to preference where possible. However, due to limited seats, admission may be offered by any one of the selected institutes.

  • Admission is provisional until the university verifies the authenticity of original documents. If documents are found invalid, the admission offer will be revoked and the student must return to their country at their own expense. For courses requiring the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) Equivalence Certificate, scholarship offer letters will be processed only after receipt of the AIU certificate.

  • Scholarship slots include return economy class airfare to the nearest airport and 3rd AC train fare to the place of study (except under the Dr. S. Radhakrishnan Cultural Exchange Scholarship Scheme), if required.

  • Candidates must submit all educational certificates and degrees duly attested by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Myanmar.
