INDIA – MYANMAR HRD COOPERATION
The Human Resource Development (HRD) Cooperation between India and Myanmar was launched in 1996. The HRD Wing primarily focuses on capacity building and skill development through short-term and long-term training programmes and scholarships.
The Government of India funds various HRD cooperation initiatives, which are mainly implemented through the Indian Technical & Economic Cooperation (ITEC) Programme and multiple scholarship schemes offered under the Indian Council for Cultural Relations (ICCR). In addition, numerous specialized country-specific capacity-building programmes are conducted under the Mekong-Ganga Cooperation (MGC) Plan of Action, Aid-to-Myanmar initiatives, and other related frameworks.
